We were incredibly lucky to stumble across a caracal that didn’t immediately run for cover. Instead, we were able to watch it for several minutes and follow it as it went for a hunt. Unfortunately, the lighting was less than ideal as it was right before dusk.
This little dik-dik stumbled across the caracal and froze. We weren’t sure if a chase might ensue, but the caracal seemed uninterested.
After a while, the caracal moved to a new location with a bit more cover.
The hunt begins!
It was all over very quickly.
Caracals are such beautiful cats!
